Day 1: Arrival in Moshi – Orientation & City Ride | 15 km
Arrive in Moshi, the charming town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. After settling into your hotel, meet your cycling guides for a detailed briefing and equipment check. In the afternoon, take a short warm-up ride around Moshi’s outskirts, passing through coffee farms and small villages. This introduction ride helps you get familiar with your bike while enjoying your first views of Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak.

Day 2: Moshi – Rau Forest – Materuni Village | 45 km
Your adventure begins with an early breakfast before setting off toward the lush Rau Forest. This forest reserve is home to monkeys, colorful birds, and giant fig trees. Ride through shaded trails and enjoy the sounds of nature all around you. Continue uphill through coffee and banana plantations toward Materuni Village, located on Kilimanjaro’s southern slopes.
After arrival, take part in a coffee-making tour with the Chagga people — learning how coffee is grown, roasted, and brewed by hand. Later, hike or ride a short distance to Materuni Waterfalls, where you can relax and swim.

Day 3: Materuni – West Kilimanjaro Plains | 60 km

Along the way, you’ll pass small farms, open grasslands, and Maasai settlements. Expect to see herds of goats, cattle, and maybe even giraffes or zebras grazing nearby. You’ll arrive at a Maasai camp in time for sunset — an unforgettable experience filled with storytelling, traditional dance, and stargazing around a campfire.

Day 4: West Kilimanjaro – Ngasurai Plains – Arusha | 70 km
This is one of the most adventurous sections of the trip, taking you deep into the Ngasurai Plains, an area known for its wildlife and authentic Maasai culture. The route is mostly offroad, passing through red-dirt trails and scenic open plains.
Cyclists may encounter elephants, antelopes, and wildebeests that migrate between Tanzania and Kenya. Enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree before continuing toward the outskirts of Arusha. The final stretch takes you through local farmlands and small villages before reaching your lodge near Arusha.

Day 5: Arusha – Monduli Juu – Maasai Highlands | 60 km
After breakfast, begin your ascent into the Monduli Highlands, an area known for panoramic views and rich Maasai culture. The terrain is more challenging today, with uphill sections leading to breathtaking viewpoints over the Rift Valley and Mount Meru.
Stop in Monduli Juu Village, where you’ll visit a traditional Maasai boma (homestead) to learn about their daily lives, dress, and customs. Lunch will be served in the village before continuing on winding trails to your overnight camp surrounded by hills and acacia trees.
